This month, we’ll have a social meeting at the home of Tony McDaid, chapter Chair. Join us on the afternoon of Saturday, June 21, starting at 12:00 noon. We’ll provide a taco lunch with all the fixings. Boy, are we going to have fun!
To reserve your spot and receive location information, send a note to rsvp@sbe36.org.
Here’s some additional information about the gathering:
Q: Can I come if I’m not a member of SBE?
A: Yes, but remember that there’s going to be a lot of technical chatter. If you are coming to meet a handsome engineer and conduct a prosperous life together, you may be disappointed.
Q: Can I bring a guest?
A: Yes, an adult guest is welcome. We’re not in the babysitting business.
Q: Can I bring beer or wine?
A: Yes, if you are 21 or older. Please drink responsibly if that’s even a thing, or at least hire a driver to take you home. As those highway signs remind us: “BUZZED DRIVING IS DRUNK DRIVING.”
Q: How long does the event last?
A: Dear engineer friend: If you see your hosts cleaning up, removing chairs, and avoiding eye contact, it’s time to leave. If the patio lights are being turned off, it’s time to leave.
Q: Can we have grilled hamburgers instead?
A: You can bring a canned ham for all we care, but please bring enough to share. Please coordinate your offerings with Tony.
Q: Will there be a live band?
A: What instrument do you play?
Q: Does Tony have a swimming pool?
A: No, but he can run the sprinklers for you if you insist on getting wet.
Q: Will there be a stripper?
A: Please leave your clothes on for the duration of the event.
