Gentner Comes to XETV

Consider this month's meeting a tripleheader.

First, Kelly Hannig of Gentner visits to discuss their latest telephone hybrid and remote control products. During all the hustle to get digital television on the air, during the last year we've heard talks from very few featuring products of interest to those who specialize in radio without pictures. Kelly's a great speaker and an SBE-certified broadcast engineer.

Second, XETV hosts the meeting. They've recently remodeled to add news to their programming plate. You'll get to see what goes into a thoroughly modern news facility.

And third, Steve Rosen's TV Magic has been integrating the facility after having also completed KSWB. You'll get to see their handiwork on a tour of Fox 6.

Kelly Hannig says, "We'll take a look at Gentner's newest telephone hybrid, the DH30, which has all the bells and whistles like AES/EBU capability, presets, 3-band caller EQ and acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). AEC allows an amplified speaker to be placed in close proximity to an open mike without getting feedback. This allows talk show hosts to hear callers and respond without wearing headphones or earbuds.

"Also, Gentner's new site control product, the GSC3000, will be demoed. It is scalable from 8 channels to 256 channels per system and can be connected to a LAN/WAN. Its features make it the most flexible and powerful system in its price range."

Join us Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at 6 PM for a social hour with food, followed by the 7 PM meeting, 7:15 PM product demo, and 8 PM product demo. Attend one or all. Guests always welcome!

Directions: From SR-163 at Kearny Mesa, take the Clairemont Mesa Boulevard exit west. (If you are coming from the north, you'll have to get into a special left lane from the exit to proceed to Kearny Mesa Road south.) Immediately get onto Kearny Mesa road south, where all the car lots are located. Proceed south to Ronson Road. Turn right and look for the tall studio building to your left, where the meeting will be held. Don't go to the main office building. XETV is at 8253 Ronson Road.
