SBE 36 Meeting at KGB-AM Transmitter Site

iHeartMedia is preparing to move the KOGO 600 kHz transmitter to the 1991 site of KGB-AM 760, formerly KFMB-AM, at the Santee western city limit. iHeart’s San Diego Market Engineering Director, John Rigg, says it’s a good time to show local engineers how it’s being done. Expect to see their new Nautel transmitter and multiplexer hardware required to add KOGO. Attendees will tour the circa 1991 site and recent improvements.

Additionally, Paul Kriegler of Omnia and Axia will show some gear in their demo van including a sneak listen to Forza.FM. It’s been six years since their last visit, so it’s time to see what’s new.

Join us at 8440 Mast Blvd., San Diego, CA 92124, near the base of the three towers on the south side of the CA-52 freeway on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:00 noon. Omnia will provide a light lunch. Please reserve a spot by sending a message to RSVP@SBE36.ORG. This meeting is open to members and registered guests.

Paul Kriegler has worked for Cleveland-based Telos Alliance since 2017. Prior to this gig, he was a radio programmer for 30 years. He says he’s here to help and boasts that he “still has his hearing.” Worthy brag, Paul.
