Who'll Step Up to the Plate Next?

EAS Chairman Needed

By Oscar Medina
Chief Engineer, KNSD/NBC

With Jeff Williams having vacated his position as Chairman of the Local Emergency Communications Committee it is time to get together as a group to elect a new Chairman.

This is a general call to anyone that would like to assist with EAS. I need a volunteer to coordinate the effort at the LP-1 and LP-2, and someone to help out with the cable companies.

Now that the plan is operational, most of the work has already been done, so there isn't a significant amount of work involved. Assisting EAS coordination is a great way to give something back to your community and it's a great reflection on the station or cable company you work for.

If you are interested or know of someone that might be interested in helping out, please email me at:

sbe36@broadcast.net

I'll be setting up a time and date for the next meeting of the LECC for sometime in August. An email will be sent out soon.

Oscar Medina, CSTE Acting Chair San Diego LECC EAS
