Panasonic Demos TV Converters

Says local sales rep Tom James, "We're looking forward to presenting the Panasonic Universal ATSC Format Converter to the San Diego SBE on the evening of June 16th in KPBS at San Diego State University. Jeff Merritt, Product Marketing manager for HDTV/DTV products will be on hand to present and demonstrate the Panasonic Universal Format Converter UFC-1800. Jeff is well versed in the applications of format conversion amongst other things facing the industry's coming change to DTV and HDTV. Meet us Wednesday, June 16 at KPBS, 5200 Campanile Drive, SDSU Campus. Come at 6:00 PM for hors d'oeuvres and conversation, 7:00 PM for the chapter meeting and presentation.

Take I-8 to College Ave. and go South to Lindo Paseo (stop light at 7-11). Make a Right onto Lindo Paseo, going west, and drive past the KPBS building. Turn right into the parking garage. Be careful not to park in the lot immediately behind the KPBS building. In the Parking Garage, DO NOT park on the lowest, first floor or any spaced marked 'SP 750'. The correct spaces are labeled 'Faculty-Staff - SP 800'. Walk out the parking garage on the south side and around to the front lobby entrance of the building. Go in the door and follow the signs. If the door is locked, please knock.

For those of you whose main interest is not in DTV, next month we have a great broadcast product fair from Zack Electronics with ten vendors currently signed up, including tool and wire manufacturers, and the Tektronix Measurement Division. Then in August you'll learn about something we all use: fiberoptics, updated. This fall we hope to get a look at the Supercomputer Center at UCSD, and will have a visit from the people who make and sell Harris radio transmitters.
