November 17 "State of the System"

EAS Meeting Scheduled

from Jeff Williams, LECC Chairman:

On Tuesday, November 17th at 10 a.m. there will be an EAS meeting for the San Diego County area at the KSDO/KOGO/KPOP building. All broadcasters, state, local, weather, and FCC officials are invited to attend. This meeting will basically serve as a state of EAS meeting and is designed to be an open discussion of EAS concerns. If you plan on attending, please call me at 715-3382 or contact me by e-mail at ksdo11b@prodigy.com

from Oscar Medina, LECC Vice-Chairman

I am compiling a chart with best times and worst times for the Required Monthly Test. This information will be used to create the Required Monthly Test (RMT)schedule for 1999.

To simplify the schedule, I would like to keep the test on the same scheduled day (the 1st Wednesday of the month).

I need the following information:

  • Your station call letters or cable system name
  • The name of the person who determined the following list of times.
  • A list of 15 minute windows that work for you throughout the 24 hour day. (Optimum times)
  • A list of 15 minute windows that are not necessarily optimum but that you can live with.
  • A list of times (in blocks, example: 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.) that are bad for your station/cable system.
I will be compiling a chart in order to seek times that are mutually agreeable to all, and will submit it to Jeff Williams for presentation at the November 17th meeting.

Please respond with an email or fax (619) 467-7720. PLEASE SEND YOUR EMAIL RESPONSE TO: racso@ix.netcom.com

I NEED THE INFORMATION BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13TH FOR IT TO BE PART OF THE CHART.

If you have any questions, please give me a call at (619) 467-7301.
